Runners from Japan, Nepal and Hong Kong were top finishers in the Bupa Global Lantau 50 Asian Skyrunning Championship on December 2. The trail race is organised annually by Action Asia Events and features three distances: 16km, 27km and a blistering 54km. [PHOTOS COURTESY of Action Asia Events.]
AT THE YHKCC INTERNATIONAL FUN FAIR AND BAZAAR
The YHKCC International Fun Fair and Bazaar was jampacked on December 9. Themed Beyond the Stars, the aim was to transcend boundaries and create a legacy of unity and cultural appreciation. There were culturally-themed game booths where you could redeem gifts, and food stalls providing an international selection of cuisines: Indian, Thai, British, Chinese and local (egg waffles), plus popcorn and cotton candy. Souvenirs on offer included sports equipment and jewellery. The day-long event was rounded off by a student-led multicultural show. [PHOTOS BY Sarin Ale.]
AT THE TREASURE ISLAND XMAS MARKET
Islanders spent a blustery day at the Treasure Island Xmas Market on December 17. The food and handicraft stalls were provided by local artisans and there was a live band and festive-themed activities to add to the fun.
